REST STOP TEAM

PURPOSE:

Provide food and water for walkers as they come through the rest stop.

DUTIES:

  1. Set up rest stop materials (tables, water, signs, garbage cans, etc.) the morning of the Walk.
  2. Place garbage cans a few feet along the route after the rest stop to cut down on trash that has to be picked up.
  3. Cut up fruit (cut bananas in half, apples and oranges in quarters). Only cut fruit as needed, a shelter or a food bank will not take leftover fruit that is cut up! Place the fruit on the lid of the rest stop box for walkers to serve themselves.
  4. Open the packs of Lance snacks and lay them out so the walkers can each take one cookie or cracker.
  5. Walkers should have water bottles to fill with water. Please assist them in filling up their bottles.
  6. Clean up near and around rest stop area and pack up supplies only after the last walkers have passed through the rest stop.
  7. Wait for the supply truck to come and help load remaining supplies and food in supply truck.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Ability to lift cases of water and fruit.
  2. Ability to stay outside in all types of weather.
